Lindsay's Guide to Providence

Welcome to Lil' Rhody! I grew up in Barrington, about 15 minutes from Providence. Rhode Island is very special to me, and I appreciate you traveling to get here.

Where to Eat

Seven Stars

Duhh. My parents own this bakery. It's also a Rhode Island institution. Stop by for coffee & artisan breads, pastries, and sandwiches.

My favs: Durum stick, olive batard, walnut raisin toast with jam, ginger scone

ZK's favs: Everything danish, broccoli, egg & cheese quiche, kouign-amann

Track 15

Right across the street from the Graduate, Track 15 is a new food hall featuring some long-time RI favorites.

My favs: Dolores (Mexican), Little Chaska (Indian - sister restaurant to Kabob and Curry), Mother's Pizzeria

Federal Hill

A 5-minute drive away, Federal Hill is the Little Italy of Providence.

My favs: Constantino's, Andino's, Camille's

Den Den Cafe Asiana

This is my favorite restaurant in Providence. Order at the counter & get the hot stone bibimbap.

Gracies

A fine dining option with a seasonal menu.

Gift Horse

RI seafood spot. I've never actually been here, but it's right around the corner from the Graduate and the NYT just named its Crispy Fish Ssam one of the 23 best restaurant dishes of 2025. Go and then lmk how it is. (Oberlin is its sister restaurant, also nearby)

What to Do

Hope Street Farmer's Market

Saturdays, 9am - 1pm in Lippitt Park (1015 Hope St). This is a short drive/uber from downtown PVD, but there's plenty to explore on Hope Street once you're over there. Blackstone Boulevard is a beautiful walk nearby.

RISD Museum

Apparently the 20th-largest art museum in the US:) Admission is free on Sundays if you're hanging around.

Brown University

A pretty campus to explore, especially in the Fall. Thayer Street has a ton of fast-casual food options.

Where to Walk & Run

College Hill

RISD and Brown are just across the Providence River. Benefit Street is really pretty and has lots of little shops. Keep walking past Benefit on Angel Street to get to Thayer, Brown's main street. (Note: College Hill is a hill.)

Blackstone Blvd

Follow Angel Street (past RISD & Brown) to the other side of Providence. Wayland Square is cute, and then you can head north on Blackstone Boulevard (there's a pedestrian path down the middle of the blvd- great place to run).

Pedestrian Bridge/Wickenden

Walk South to the 195 District Park and then walk over the Pedestrian Bridge to Wickenden/Fox Point, a fun lil artsy neighborhood.

Long run option

Nav to India Point Park (a mile-ish) to find the East Bay Bike Path. The Bike Path runs uninterrupted for 14 miles (through Barrington) and ends in Bristol, RI.
